A two-day hands-on workshop exploring Stochastic Fascia in practice, with a focus on variability, tissue continuity, and embodied response.
Join clinical anatomist John Sharkey in Zürich for two unique days of hands-on exploration, movement, touch and discovery. Drawing on his paper Stochastic Fascia: The Ionic Fabric of Consciousness, John will bring fascia out of the textbook and into the living, breathing person. Together, we will explore tissue continuity, hydration, variability, embodied awareness and the remarkable ways in which the body responds and reorganises. This is fascia education from a full-person perspective — scientifically informed, clinically relevant and grounded in experience. Expect plenty of practical work, thoughtful discussion, fresh ideas and, of course, a few laughs along the way.
This workshop translates the concepts presented in the paper into a practical approach to touch and movement.
Fascia will be explored as a living connective tissue continuum whose behaviour emerges through the dynamic coupling of cells, fibres, water, hyaluronan, ions, vascular exchange and neural activity.
“Stochastic” means that biological responses are variable, probabilistic, opportunistic and influenced by context.
