Session 1 Aleš Urbanczik and Bert Schmitz
She became interested in SI when she saw its remarkable effects on the human psyche. Nilce taught Psychology and Body Awareness for the Rolf Institute (DIRI) following her graduation there in 1983.
Nilce taught in countless Basic and Advanced Trainings side by side with Emmett Hutchins and Peter Melchior, Ida Rolf's first instructors. She definitely deserves the title "Grande Dame of Dr. Rolf's Recipe".
Session 2 & 3 Nilce Silveira and Adam Polański
guidelines participants will be provided with straightforward tools to facilitate the development of their individual style of Structural Integration.
Session 4 & 5 Neal Powers and David Davis
-Evaluate effectiveness of previous 4 sessions.
-Evaluate client in standing, walking, and then in supine position.
-Begin work at most surface level of strain.(arms, ventral or dorsal thoracics, or quadriceps.)
-Ease the extrinsic body.
-Lengthen and allow lift in the abdomen.
-Ease and lengthen Quadricep muscles.
-Balance abdominal cavity.
-lengthen lower back and neck.
-Back work often essential.
-Educate client about lifting/lengthening from within.
Session 6 & 7 Aleš Urbanczik and Nilce Silveira
Session 8 & 9 David Davis, Neal Powers and Adam Polański
These two sessions are challenging for most practitioners.
The practitioner needs to shift one's intention from taking the body apart to integrating the body segments as a whole system.
Asking for movement is imperative.
The least amount of shortening in the lumbar area during movement is an important sign that the body is lengthening.
Sitting and standing positions are also recommended.
Session 10 EGSI Faculty
Nilce Silveira
Nilce taught in countless Basic and Advanced Trainings side by side with Emmett Hutchins and Peter Melchior, Ida Rolf's first instructors. She definitely deserves the title "Grande Dame of Dr. Rolf's Recipe".

Neal Powers
He became a member of the faculty of the Rolf Institute in 1980, was subsequently the RISI's president for six years and became an Honorary Life Member.
In 1991 Neal left the Rolf Institute along with Peter Melchior, Emmett Hutchins, Stacey Mills and others to found the Guild for Structural Integration.
Neal is one of the longest serving Rolfers in the whole world.
Neal's modesty with respect to our work kept him out of the limelight of the SI community,
but you will nover regret having studied with him.
Post 10 Single Session
-Listen to the client
-Evaluate the patterns of strain
-Begin with the most surface layer of strain.
-De-strain the extrinsics
-Integrate and relate the body segments to one another.
-Back work is often essential.
-Close with abdominal easing, pelvic lift, and neck work

Trusting your Intuition
Trusting one’s intuition develops over time with experience and practice. Within the parameters of Dr Rolf’s guidelines participants will be provided with straightforward tools to facilitate the development of their individual style of Structural Integration.
Aleš Urbanczik
He has lived in the Czech Republic, England, Germany, Switzerland and California, and currently resides in Feldmeilen near Zurich (Switzerland).
Before being trained in Structural Integration by Peter Melchior and Emmett Hutchins, two of Ida Rolf's very first students, he worked as a professional actor for many theaters in Europe and was responsible for the physical training of his colleagues.
The spiritual background he comes from is that of Zen-Buddhism. Aleš received the ordination of a Zen-Boddhisatva in the French Temple of 'La Gendronnière'.
He has been practicing and teaching HathaYoga for 30 years. Working with Dr. Rolf's principles in the traditional Asanas, Aleš gradually developed a unique teaching style and named it "RolfYoga".
He currently chairs the European Guild's Board and teaches the Basic Trainings in the Czech Republic, the UK and Austria.

Cranial Work in 1-6
A "bon mot" attributed to Ida Rolf states that the first six sessions are merely there to prepare for session 7. Indeed, we do work in these sessions on the emergence of better support for the 7 lb head from the underlying structures.
But how could we work in these sessions on the cranium itself to prepare for 7 ?
These are the questions we will investigate going through anatomy and techniques of cranial work in sessions 1-6.

The Mystery of the Psoas/Rhomboid Balance
Psoas/Rhomboids - Lordosis/Kyphosis - Being/Doing
Ida Rolf’s 8th/9th hour consideration to “Balance the Psoas and the Rhomboids” has proved challenging for many practitioners.
No wonder.
The psoas itself is a mysterious muscle, the rhomboids are difficult to feel, let alone use, so 'balancing' them seems at first out of reach.
We will first investigate the psoas, then the rhomboids and then explore what the balance between the two could signify.

Bert Schmitz
For over thirty years, he has been practicing meditation and integrating mindfulness in his methods. He teaches meditation and energy awareness practices.
Bert’s psychological approach is subtle and relates to the understanding of the finer networks of body and mind, which offers the means for finding the code for psychological transformation.
In groups his strength is in creating a foundation and atmosphere for intuitive study, through concept, presentations, intuitive choices, conversations in silence.
Bodymindfulness in SI
Non-dual consciousness or “the natural state” and the experience of Structural Integration.
How we perceive the world is influenced by our conceptual mind. Kairos (intuitive mind) and Chronos (thinking mind) are its leading factors.
Structural integration opens the bodymind through the experience of flow and the feeling of inner connectedness. We might find an experience of mindfulness, and in this way an opening in the awareness of our natural state.
The “line” and the “here and now” are becoming a felt sense, and the markers of a non-dual space of awareness.
Fulvio Faudella
He served for one year in the Italian Navy Academy as a cadet before becoming a professional dancer. Appointed soloist dancer, he performed from 1985 to 2005 dancing with many different ballet companies (among them Aterballetto, Arena di Verona, Teatro Regio Torino, GöteborgsOperan, Scottish Ballet) all around Europe and many of these years under the direction of the choreographer Robert North.
In 1997 a serious knee injury brought him to SI and he graduated from the Guild in the US in 2003.
In the subsequent years he deepened his study and practice of Structural Integration with Neal Powers, Jim Asher, Hubert Godard, David Davis, Nilce Silveira, Liz Stewart and Maria Laura Gentilini.

Gravity/Poetry/Line
During this class we will present some theoretical information about gravity - subject close to all SI Practitioners. After the theoretical part we will explore gravity and line through Structural Awareness exercises.
